Tour details

An afternoon 4WD on Mount Batur for travelers who want the caldera at golden hour, without a 2:00 AM start. The day uses a private car for the hotel transfer and an open jeep on the lava.

You cross the black lava field, stop for photos with a driver who shoots on an iPhone 14–17 Pro Max, and watch the sky turn orange, purple, and pink from a viewpoint on the caldera ridge.

Every package includes the lava drive and a coffee tasting at a local plantation. Add Akasa Cafe, or a night swim in the Batur hot spring, on the longer packages.

Duration is 8–10 hours overall. The sunset-only package is 7–8 hours, the cafe package is 9 hours, and the hot spring package is 10 hours.

Itinerary

1. 1:00–2:30 PM

   Private hotel pickup

   Air-conditioned pickup from Canggu, Seminyak, Kuta, Sanur, Ubud, or Kintamani.

2. 3:15–3:45 PM

   Coffee plantation

   A plantation near the volcano. Traditional roasting, herbal teas, and specialty coffee, including kopi luwak.

3. 3:45–5:15 PM

   Black lava jeep

   Open-air 4x4 on the black lava field, with a photo session.

4. 5:15–6:15 PM

   Sunset viewpoint

   A viewpoint on the caldera slope or ridge as the sky turns orange, purple, and pink.

5. 6:15–8:30 PM

   Back to base camp

   Drive down in the dusk.

6. 6:45 PM · hot spring package

   Batur hot spring

   A night swim in the thermal pools on the edge of Lake Batur. Only on the hot spring package.

7. 7:00–8:30 PM

   Return transfer

   Private vehicle back to the hotel. On the hot spring package this follows the swim.
